Despite a pandemic, our staff grew, we introduced a new campaign (Public Lands Equity and Resilience), sued the Trump administration, saw a bipartisan introduction of the PLANT Act, and helped lobby for passage of a once-in-a-generational bill, the Great American Outdoors Act!
CalWild is known to be nimble – we do a lot with a small staff in a huge state, covering many campaigns and projects simultaneously. We’re able to do this because we have a loyal supporter base. However, we can only grow capacity if we grow our membership and ask our donors to strengthen their support over time.
Now is that time! In 2021, we will be re-introducing our three legislative bills, working with a new Senate champion to replace Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris, lobbying the Biden administration to disassemble Trump’s dangerous environmental rollbacks, advancing our gains to restore public lands damaged by cannabis trespass grows, and hopefully returning to some semblance of normal, in-person organizing at some point. There is a lot to be done!
Please consider a year-end donation to CalWild before December 31! For our annual limited edition stretch prize, we’re offering prints of California’s Wild Places to donations of $100 or more.
You can also give a CalWild membership as a gift – all you have to do is notate the recipient’s contact info in the supplied box during the donation process.
If you’re able to give over $250/year, consider becoming a Voices for a Wild Future donor and help sustain the organization in the long-term. These donors get insider access to special events and offerings from our team for increased engagement with our slate of public lands.
Thank you all and happy holidays!
