CalWild works in all stages of creating new wilderness areas and wild & scenic rivers. We are involved early on in surveying and mapping federal lands that hold areas and waterways that might be eligible for permanent protection. We work with landowners and interested parties to develop maps and boundaries that hopefully will enjoy wide support.
We work with local activists, elected officials and communities to build support for the proposed wilderness and wild & scenic river proposals. In this section of our website, we offer you more information and resources to learn about proposals and plans in the works to add new designations to federal lands and waterways so they are protected forever.
