It definitely makes our job easier when all of our bills move in concert with one another, and normally we’re not so lucky as we have been in 2019.

Following their synchronized introductions across the House and Senate in April, our bills in the Central Coast, Northwest, and San Gabriel Mountains all had hearings today in Washington D.C. in front of the House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public Lands. The hearing was a chance for our champions to showcase the tremendous benefits to wildlife and people that these bills would provide, and they spoke alongside expert witness testimonies ranging from Graciela Cabello from Los Padres Forest Watch to Kent Collard, the owner of Bar 717 Ranch in Trinity County.

We’ll have more updates for you when our Senior Policy Director Ryan Henson returns from D.C.

In the meantime, check out the videos of our champions in action below (thanks to C-SPAN and The Wilderness Society for the video clips).
