After years of countering threats to our shared public lands, 2021 offered a glimpse of a better world for the wild lands and waters that CalWild helps steward and advocate for.

This future comes with a lot of optimism and collaboration across communities that were previously divided. It’s forged in the spirit of inclusion and driven by common goals and shared values.

Please consider a year-end gift today to sustain CalWild’s work towards a brighter and wilder future. Gifts over $150 will receive a pair of Sunski sunglasses, made from recycled materials and branded just for CalWild donors!

Your support means we can continue our work with confidence, innovating strategies for public lands protection, growing our leadership role in the conservation space, and increasing our impact among diverse communities across California.

This work includes:

  • Advancing broadly-supported bills across the state that will protect 636,971 acres of new wilderness and 684 miles of new wild and scenic rivers
  • Expanding partnerships with local groups to empower under-represented communities in the inland empire and San Joaquin Valley to advocate for pro-conservation policies and designations for their local public lands
  • Leading statewide efforts to fundamentally rethink our relationship to wildfires and shift conservation policy toward more sustainable and ecologically sound fire management
  • Advancing California’s 30×30 efforts to protect 30% of lands and waters by 2030 to help mitigate and adapt to the effects of climate change

We are in a special moment for public lands, with federal, state, and local efforts aligning on their importance, and their role in helping mitigate climate change. However, that doesn’t mean we’re shifting to autopilot. We are constantly and diligently working towards a wilder future.

Please consider a year-end gift to be a part of this future!
