Wilderness Profile

Just three miles off of Interstate 80, Castle Peak Potential Wilderness is among the most scenic areas in the Tahoe National Forest. Home to extraordinary old-growth red fir forests and the little Truckee River, Castle Peak provides clean drinking water to residents of Nevada County.

Call Senator Feinstein in support of Northern California wilderness bill!

Help convince Senator Feinstein to protect northern California's wild lands! Anti-wilderness forces are trying to bend her ear and we need our pro-wilderness voices to be heard right now.

Representative Mike Thompson has introduced the Northern California Coastal Wild Heritage Wilderness Act of 2003 in Congress (H.R. 1501 in the House and S. 738 in the Senate), but this bill cannot move forward without the support of Senator Dianne Feinstein.

S. 738 will protect 303,924 acres and 21 river miles of some of the state's most spectacular scenery and important fish and wildlife habitat.

Please help convince Senator Feinstein to join Senator Boxer and Representative Thompson in supporting S. 738.

PHONE SENATOR FEINSTEIN TODAY AT 202-224-3841 AND ASK HER TO SUPPORT S. 738.

Thank you for your call today on behalf of California's last wild places!
